The rules for using Lotus

1Agreeing to these terms

Lotus (blacklotusaio.app, the Lotus app, and the Black Lotus Discord server) is run by Black Lotus ("we", "us"). By creating an account, using an invite code, or otherwise using Lotus, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Lotus.

2What Lotus is, and what it isn't

Lotus is a research and information service for player props and daily fantasy contests. It shows projections, matchups, simulations, line tracking, and the results of our past picks.

• Not a sportsbook. Lotus does not accept bets or entries, hold your money, or pay out winnings.
• No guarantees. Projections, chances, simulations, and picks are estimates and can be wrong. Past results don't promise future results.
• Not advice. Nothing on Lotus is financial, investment, legal, or professional advice.
• Data can be late or wrong. Lines, injuries, lineups, and stats come from outside sources and can be stale, missing, or inaccurate. Check the line in your app before you play.
• Not affiliated. Lotus is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by PrizePicks, Underdog, any sportsbook, or any league or team. Their names and marks belong to them.

3Who can use Lotus

You must be at least 18 years old, or 21 where your state requires it, and able to agree to these terms. You're responsible for knowing whether daily fantasy and pick'em contests are legal where you are. Don't use Lotus where they aren't.

4Your account

• Give us accurate information and keep your email current. We use it for sign-in, password resets, and billing notices.
• One person per account. Don't share your login, sell it, or let others use it.
• Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• Invite codes are personal. Each one can be linked to one account, and we can turn off a code or the access it gives at any time.
• If you link Discord, we use that link to sign you in and, if you choose to join, to add you to the Black Lotus server and keep your server role in step with your membership.

5Membership and billing

• A Lotus membership is $20 a month unless we tell you otherwise before you pay. Prices are in US dollars.
• New accounts may get a free trial. Trials are one per person. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged when it does.
• Your membership renews every month automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime under Billing in your account. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Payments are not refunded, including for partly used months, except where the law requires it. If you think you were charged by mistake, contact us and we'll look into it.
• If a payment fails, your access can pause until it goes through.
• We may change the price. We'll tell you at least 14 days before a new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
• Free, invite, and complimentary access can be changed or ended at any time.

6Acceptable use

Don't:

• repost, resell, or share Lotus picks, slips, projections, or screenshots of members-only pages, publicly or with people who aren't members;
• scrape, crawl, or copy Lotus with bots or scripts, or use Lotus data to build a competing product;
• get around the paywall, sign-in, rate limits, or any other security, or try to break into accounts or systems;
• reverse engineer Lotus or interfere with how it runs;
• use Lotus for anything illegal, or to harass, scam, or impersonate anyone.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, with or without warning. If we close it for breaking them, there's no refund.

7The Discord server

The Black Lotus Discord server has its own rules, posted in the server. Follow them and Discord's own terms. Our moderators can remove messages, time out, or remove anyone who breaks them. What members post there is their own opinion, not ours.

8Our content

Lotus, its design, software, projections, write-ups, and data are ours or our licensors'. While you're a member in good standing, you may use Lotus for your own personal research. Nothing here gives you ownership or any other rights. If you send us feedback or ideas, we're free to use them.

9Your information

What we collect:

• Your account: your name, email, and password. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash, never as the password itself.
• A profile photo, if you upload one.
• Discord, if you link it: your Discord ID, username, avatar, and email, and whether you're in our server.
• Billing: your membership status and the customer ID Stripe gives us. Stripe holds your card details.
• Basic logs: your IP address, the pages you open and when, and your device's screen size. We use these for security, to stop abuse, and to fix layout problems.
• On your device: a sign-in cookie, plus settings like the sport you picked and whether you've seen the tour, which are stored in your browser.

We use this information only to run Lotus: your account, sign-in, billing, emails, support, and security. We don't sell it and don't use ad trackers. We share it only with the services that run parts of Lotus (Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Discord if you link it, and our hosting providers), or when the law requires it.

Want your account and its information deleted? Email us from your account's email address and we'll do it, keeping only what we must keep for billing records or the law.

10Responsible play

Only play with money you can afford to lose, and set limits before you start. If gambling stops being fun, or you're chasing losses, take a break and get help. Call or text 1-800-GAMBLER, free and confidential, any time.

11Disclaimers and liability

Lotus is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will always be up, error-free, or accurate, and we disclaim all warranties to the extent the law allows, including fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any losses from using Lotus or relying on it, including money lost on entries or bets, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages. If we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the claim.

You agree to cover us against claims that come from your breaking these terms or the law.

12Changes, ending your account, and the law

• We may update these terms. The date at the top changes, and for a meaningful change we'll ask you to agree again the next time you open Lotus. If you don't agree, stop using Lotus and cancel.
• You can stop using Lotus and cancel at any time. We can suspend or end access as described above, or if we stop offering Lotus.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, apart from its conflict-of-law rules.
• If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given it up.
